My coaching supervision philosophy is person centred and pragmatic. I place high importance on being authentic, creating rapport and empathy with the coaches that I work with. Building a strong relationship and working alliance are core elements of my supervision methodology.
What is Coaching Supervision?
Coaching supervision is a formal process of professional support which ensures continuing development of the coach and effectiveness of his/her coaching practice through interactive reflection, interpretative evaluation, and the sharing of expertise.
In my supervision practice, I follow the three main functions of supervision identified by Hawkins and Smith (2013): Development, Resourcing and Qualitative.
My Approach
My approach to supervision is influenced by my work as an executive coach and mentor over a 30 year-period. I also draw upon my experiences as a Lead Tutor for ICF Accredited Individual and Team Coaching Programmes at PG Cert level and as a Mentor Coach. All my work has strong underpinnings from Psychodynamic theory and I use an integrated supervision model that draws upon different approaches and a wide suite of validated tools and techniques. The intention of my supervision model is to create a structured way of working while still having inherent flexibility to adapt to different situations and issues.
